August Dancer of the Month

Dancer of the MonthAlexandra McQuillen has been chosen as Bailar Dancewear’s Dancer of the Month for August. She describes herself as a very driven and motivated person. She sets goals for herself and does whatever she can to achieve them. Alexandra wants to be the best possible version of herself, through both her dancing career and her everyday life. She loves to experience new things, even if she may be uncomfortable at first.
Alexandra says her dance career began when her mom put her in a ballet class at the age of three. She fell in love with it and has not stopped since.

She says her happiest moment related to dance would have to be at a dance competition where she performed a solo titled A Postcard to Henry Purcell choreographed by her teacher, Jaclyn Gailit-Lutz. That same day, Alexandra landed wrong on her foot during classes and she thought she would not be able to perform. She pushed through her solo, and actually won 3rd place. She said it was a really difficult category that day, so she was pretty excited. Alexandra said it helped her realize she can beat any obstacle.
Alexandra says she has always wanted to
Dancer of the Monthperform a piece choreographed by one of the “greats in the dance world today - Travis Wall, Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, Sonya Tayeh, or Mark Meismer. She believes they would all be wonderful to work with. That is something she really hopes to be able to do some day.

According to Alexandra, the Customer Service at Bailar Dancewear was very kind and helpful and the product was extremely well made. She says she loved purchasing from them and will recommend it to every dancer.

Dancer of the MonthThis year, Alexandra’s goals for this year are to continue to work hard and improve as much as she can. College auditions will be coming up for her in the winter, so she wants to be the best she can be. She wants to take as many opportunities as she can, and learn as many new things as possible.

She hopes that she can dance the rest of her life and inspire people with her work. In her opinion, the best work is the one that makes the audience feel something. She hopes her work will do that. She feels it would also be really neat to model for dance wear companies. And, of course, she would love to work in theatre someday, too. She would also like to do something like Broadway (dancing roles, of course!) and maybe even films. She wants to do it all!

Alexandra appears to be very motivated and hopefully is someone who could accomplish all that.
