Makayla is 10 years old and lives in O Fallon, Illinois with her family of four – her father (Ryan), mother (Jessica) and her brother (Coltin).

Her favorite color is lime green. She considers herself motivated, hardworking, determined, funny and loves the outdoors, especially the beach. Makayla loves animals and her family. She feels very blessed.

Makayla always knew she wanted to dance from a very young age. When she was four, they would pass by a studio and she would always beg her mom to sign her up for dance classes. Her mom finally gave in, signed her up and she has been dancing every since.

She has had so many moments that have made her equally happy when it comes to dance that it is hard to pinpoint just one. All of her awards and accomplishments are amazing and they definitely make her very happy. However, she would have to say that just being able to express herself through dance, live in the moment, and make people smile ends up making her happier than all the awards combined when it comes to dance.

Makayla has always wanted to travel around the world and be on stage dancing with Beyonce or Katy Perry. For her, it would be a dream come true! She can’t imagine the energy that she would feel coming from a crowd that large.

Makayla LOVES B Dancewear. She said the dance clothes are very comfortable and quality is grest. She loves that she can get any color she wants, the ordering process is easy and she get the clothes very quickly. Also, everyone is very nice and helpful. Makayla’s favorite are the high-waist shorts. They are definitely a “must have” for her.

Makayla always sets many goals for herself. She says that if she didn’t set goals for herself she wouldn’t be pushed. It is her way of motivating herself. Makayla wants to improve her strength and her technique so she can “be stronger, be a National Champion, get my needle scorpion, be a great role model, and never let myself settle.”

Dance is something she wants to continue throughout her life. She is working hard now so she can hopefully achieve those dreams one day. She would really like to be a professional dancer and be on tour and travel the world with someone. She also wants to be a choreographer so that she can teach and inspire dancers to become something they never thought they could be. She sees choreographers faces when a piece they have created comes to life on stage and it is priceless. She hopes she will have that feeling one day.
